{A) - Pre-Construction NH State Energy Code Compliance Assistance

This service is for Builders, Homebuyers, Architects, and others who need help:

Completing the required State Energy Code Compliance Documents (MECheck) and/or,

Getting General Information and Guidance in how to build a new home using the latest "House as a System" Residential Energy Technology.

NH Residential Energy Code Compliance Assistance for a "to be built" home is the same as for a EPA Energy Star Home and is generally a Three Part Process.

Part One is a building plans evaluation using the nationally approved REM/Rate HERS software.
Part Two is a mid-construction site-visit.
Part Three is the Final Inspection and Blower Door Testing of the completed dwelling.

PART ONE - Pre-Construction Plans Evaluation.

The Part One - Pre-Construction Plans Evaluation Fee includes a written report estimating how the completed dwelling units will perform based on the information supplied, and will provide suggestions as to what features might be included in the completed project for it to meet the NH Residential Energy Code standards. Once a floor plan is modeled in REM/Rate, there is no extra charge to do “What If” scenario's to help you find the best balance of energy features that meets your needs.

PART TWO - mid-construction site-visit.

PART THREE - Completed Dwelling Inspection/Blower Door Test.

This fee includes a Written Report and completion of the NH Energy Code Compliance Forms.

Payment for Part Three is due at the time of the Final Site Visit.

(B) - NH State Energy Code Compliance Verification Services for Completed Homes

This "What Went Wrong?" service is for those situations where a Newly Built Home has some sort of serious building performance issues and a "independent" and "unbiased" assessment is needed to determine the cause of:

- High Energy Bills
- Comfort Problems
- Indoor Air Quality Problems
- Moisture (Mold & Mildew) Problems
- Ice Dam Problems

Post-Construction (What Went Wrong?) Assistance

This is an in-depth Home Energy Ratings System (HERS) audit that can be performed to identify both Energy Code Compliance and Energy Performance problems. A Written Report is provided that details where the Energy Code deficiencies are and recommendations to help improve the performance of the home.
